Janet Maffei, MPSA, PA-C

Janet Maffei joined Rheumatology Associates in February 2010. She is Associate Clinical Professor for the Masters of Physician Assistant Studies Program at the University of Texas Southwestern School of Allied Health.

Janet received her undergraduate degree in biology with a minor in chemistry at Texas Woman's University, where she graduated Summa Cum Laude. She received her Masters of Physician Assistant Studies degree in 2004 at the University of Texas Southwestern School of Allied Health and was subsequently accepted into the Physician Assistant Fellowship in Rheumatology at UT Southwestern and the Veteran's Affairs Hospital in Dallas, where she received intensive training in adult rheumatology in the inpatient and outpatient settings.

Janet is licensed through the Texas Medical Board and maintains her certification through the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants. Other certifications include ISCD (International Society for Clinical Densitometry) and CPR. She is a former fellow member of the American College of Rheumatology and is a current member of the Association of Rheumatology Health Professionals. She spent five years volunteering as an EMT prior to returning for her master's degree. Janet is strongly committed to community service and currently volunteers once a month at a not for profit medical clinic in north Texas.
